Writing in Murcia

Welcome to WPI’s Writing in Murcia, Spain. Located in the South-East corner of Spain, Murcia Region is noted for its sunny climate, laid-back atmosphere, and its geographical contrasts. Tucked between quaint mountain villages and the beautiful coastline of Costa Cálida on the Mediterranean, the capitol city of Murcia offers visitors a place to write without the stress of Spain’s larger tourist destinations. Here, you’ll experience one of Spain’s most comfortable cities where tradition and modernity harmoniously coexist. Sit, have breakfast or a glass of wine and write in front of Murcia’s Cathedral, a masterpiece from Spain’s Baroque period. Find inspiration strolling through the streets in the old part of the city. Or visit a coastal village and spend a day or two writing on the beach and indulging in the local cuisine. Let this stunning region feed your creativity and stimulate your writing.
